But go on Alison and look at Math Planet out of Sweden. It’s much more in-depth. He (Khan) is a pioneer. But there’s the old clichof pioneers getting arrows in their back! I tremendously admire what he’s done. But is it sustainable? Some of his courses are terrific. And he, personally, has a great knack at creating those courses. But a lot of people can do what he is doing. Is it a stable business plan? One thing it is doing is it’s showing the power of video. Video is so easily and quickly created. I actually enjoy learning new stuff.

But the question remains: how do developers cope with onslaught of new technologies with age?

This kind of data is hard to come by, but thanks to almighty Stackoverflow ands their wise decision (thanks Joel), to make this data publicly available we can mine this data to our collective benefit.

With a simple bash script to download the data, a small Java program to extract the stats and Google Docs to make the graphs, I was able to produce some interesting stats.

I pulled in data of about 70.000 developers whose Stackoverflow reputation is over 100. is like oxygen for ideas. You can never fully anticipate how an audience is going to react to something you’ve created until it’s out there. That means every moment you’re working on something without it being in the public it’s actually dying, deprived of the oxygen of the real world. It’s even worse because development doesn’t happen in a vacuum — if you have a halfway decent idea, you can be sure that there are two or three teams somewhere in the world that independently came up with it and are working on the same thing, or something you haven’t even imagined that disrupts the market you’re working in. Starbucks, like most other businesses is primarily interested in maximizing throughput of orders. More orders equals more revenue. As a result they use asynchronous processing. When you place your order the cashier marks a coffee cup with your order and places it into the queue. The queue is quite literally a queue of coffee cups lined up on top of the espresso machine. This queue decouples cashier and barista and allows the cashier to keep taking orders even if the barista is backed up for a moment. It allows them to deploy multiple baristas in a Competing Consumer scenario if the store gets busy."

Cheat Sheet : All Cheat Sheets in one page

Cheat Sheet : All Cheat Sheets in one page: "The Manual.su's project.
